Athletics is a pursuit where the body defies gravity and the will defies doubt. Every vault is more than an athletic act — it is a triumph of courage, grit, and vision. Such is the spirit embodied by LAU Yan Yuet, Maisy (Class of 2024), whose most recent feat has once again earned our utmost commendation.
At the Hong Kong Athletic Championships 2025, Maisy soared to new heights by clearing 3.10 metres in the Women’s Pole Vault Final, claiming the silver medal and shattering the U20 Hong Kong record previously held by national team senior for the past eight years. This historic performance is not merely a personal milestone, but a defining moment in Hong Kong athletics, reaffirming Maisy's athletic prowess among the territory's most gifted young athletes.
Currently reading Physical Education, Exercise Science and Health at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Maisy continues to exemplify the essential qualities that earned her the prestigious Multi-faceted Excellence Scholarship 2024 both on and off the field. As the former captain of our Athletics Team, she inspired countless St. Markans through her humility and dogged determination.
We stand in awe of Maisy's relentless pursuit of excellence and wish her continued success as she vaults towards ever-greater heights.
