From the debating floor to the heart of the neighbourhood, HUNG Hiu Tsun Thomas (5E) has distinguished himself as a servant leader of clarity, conviction, and compassion. We proudly celebrate his latest accolade as First Runner-up in the Linguist (Cantonese) category of the SCMP Student of the Year 2024/25.
As Captain of the Chinese Debate Team, Thomas has guided his team to the finals of top-tier competitions, including the Basic Law Cup, Sing Tao Inter-school Debate, Hong Kong Schools Debate Federation, Fun Cup, the Hong Kong Debate Premier League, and the Model International Conference. His eloquence, quick thinking, and poise have made him a standout in Hong Kong’s vibrant debating circuit.
As a co-founder of ‘Tung4 Jyut6’, a student-led project aimed at bringing happiness to children, he has harnessed the power of words to empower the next generation. From conducting interview workshops to mentoring with empathy, he exemplifies what it means to serve with purpose.
