The soft chime of Hong Kong’s beloved trams rings out once more — a bright, familiar note threading through the city’s hustle and bustle. It is a sound of movement and memory, but also of imagination. The future is always in motion, waiting for intrepid minds to shape its course. This year, at the 2025 BuilDING Our Future Grand Challenge, our St. Markans answered the call for innovation with remarkable creativity and vision.
In the Chinese Division, CHIANG Wing Sum Winsome (5B), LO Siu Ching (5B), YANG Yi (5B), and ZHOU Tian Qi (5B) earned a well-deserved place among the Top Ten Finalists and were further honoured with the Best Innovation Award. Their project, 竹印電驛, stood out for its audacious ideas and thoughtful re-interpretation of everyday urban spaces — a design that resonates with both ingenuity and cultural heritage.
In the English Division, LEE Pui Lam (5A), LI Tingxi (5E), and WONG Angela Yu Tung (5E) were also named Top Ten Finalists and distinguished themselves with the Best Social Impact Award. Their proposal, Urban Moss Shields, impressed judges with its strong community focus and its potential to bring meaningful, compassionate change to city life.
These achievements speak not only to our students’ creativity, but also to their courage in envisioning a brighter, more connected Hong Kong. They have seen our emblematic tram as a vessel for discovery, empathy, and possibility. Special thanks go to Mr. S. H. Ho for his gentle guidance along the way.
Ding Ding, rolling towards the future!
