In October, one of our most promising Physics students, Tommy WONG Po Leung (5B), distinguished himself and brought honour to St. Mark’s by winning First Honour at the Hong Kong Physics Olympiad 2020.  This was co-organized by the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education, the Education Bureau and the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.  He also won the Second Class Award (Physics Test) in the 17th Pan-Pearl River Delta and Chinese Elite Schools Physics Olympiad.  Tommy’s achievement is particularly praiseworthy.  In addition, our school received the Honourable Mention for Schools Award.  We congratulate him on his outstanding performance.

In September, three other of our high-achieving third formers, HO Cho Fai (3B) along with CAI Kin Hei (3A) and Kenny HONG Tsz Kwan (3B), won Second and Third Honour respectively at the International Junior Science Olympiad (Hong Kong Screening), co-organized by the Gifted Education Section of the Education Bureau, the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education, and the Hong Kong Association for Science and Mathematics Education.  This prestigious programme honed their collaboration, critical thinking and communication skills as well as stimulated their creativity.  Congratulations to them on their excellent results.
