Environmental protection has been a matter of grave concern as our Mr. Earth is feeling under the weather as a result of the excessive burning of fossil fuels and rampant human activities. In the hope of conveying the essence of conserving energy and reducing carbon footprint, Sunrise Art Education (暘谷藝術協會) organised an art exhibition entitled ‘同一天空下 — 我們的地球’ inviting ingenious art pieces from both primary and secondary school students at the Hong Kong Central Library.
With his aesthetic prowess and sensitivity towards the nuances of creative expression, SZETO Wan Hei Cato (5A) took Third Place in the Secondary Section. His art piece delineates a vivid portrait of a grieving polar bear against a backdrop of infinite blackness, which speaks volumes about the destructiveness of globalisation and modernisation on natural habitats.
