The Hong Kong Jockey Club Undergraduate Scholarship aims to recognise outstanding students studying in Hong Kong’s eight University Grants Committee (UGC)-funded institutions and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts for their intellect, character, leadership qualities and commitment to service.
We are more than exhilarated to announce that two distinguished graduates of Class of 2023, LEE Hoi Cheuk Samuel and CHONG Hei Chit Hana, have been crowned the JC Scholars for their stellar achievements and unfading devotion to serving our community as aspiring individuals.
Samuel, currently pursuing a degree in International Research Enrichment at HKUST, has demonstrated remarkable intellect and innovation in his field. He has been actively involved in various research projects, significantly contributing to advancements in drug testing and development, as he longs for inventing newer, cheaper medicines with his own hands.
Hana, now reading an LLB programme at CUHK, is deeply committed to salvaging the underprivileged. She has been working as a translator at Mother’s Choice, a local charity dedicated to supporting children without families and pregnant teenagers in need. She has also shown exemplary leadership as the chairperson of the Press Club, where she has led several initiatives to raise awareness of social issues and created a newsletter entitled ‘Pluralistic’ for student voices.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Samuel and Hana for their well-deserved recognition. We are confident that they will continue to achieve greater success and make significant contributions in their respective fields.
