2025-05-09

Mathematics is a pursuit of pure logic, creative problem-solving, and endless curiosity. The budding mathematicians at St. Mark’s rose to the challenge and demonstrated their intellectual prowess at the 42nd Hong Kong Mathematics Olympiad (2024/25).

In the individual event (Heats), CHAN Pak Hei (5B) secured the prestigious First-class Honour with his exceptional problem-solving abilities and mathematical precision. Meanwhile, WONG Cheuk Kiu (4A)YEUNG Ching Yin (4A), and HONG I Fung (5A) earned Honourable Mentions, each demonstrating their sharp thinking and determination to excel in the competitive arena.

In the Group Event (Heats), the St. Mark’s team proved their mettle, achieving a Second-class Honour and advancing to the Finals, where they proudly ranked 8th overall. This remarkable feat reflects the elegance of mathematics itself, where logic, structure, and synergy converge. Each member’s strength complemented the others’, forming a solution greater than the sum of its parts.

Their success stands as a sterling example of the power of perseverance, intellectual curiosity, and teamwork. Congratulations!
