Every new beginning is just an end of some other beginnings. While our F.6 students have stepped onto the threshold of universities after years of perseverance and diligence, our school has also launched an array of arresting taster programmes for our new F.1 St. Markans of diverse disposition.
Our Principal, Ms. Stella Chan kick-started the Orientation Day with an invigorating speech centering upon the essence of collaboration among students, parents and teachers and the school in facilitating a seamless transition from primary to secondary schooling. Various student leaders grasped this golden opportunity to introduce a kaleidoscope of activities available at St. Mark’s, ranging from inter-house competitions, religious rituals to leadership training programmes.
Our devoted, enthusiastic social workers and teachers from the Guidance and Counselling Committee also offered constructive strategies on dealing with potential adversities faced by our newcomers. A mentorship programme co-organized by St. Paul’s Church and St. Mark’s School was introduced to parents, with its overarching theme of building positive thinking in the midst of unforeseen challenges in our ever-changing, fast-paced society.
We feel more than excited to witness the birth of new St. Markans in the academic year of 2022 – 2023 and wish them all the very best as they embark on this wondrous journey towards success. A huge thanks to all teachers and student leaders for lending a helping hand to provide a multitude of meaningful and fruitful activities to our participants.
