2022-23 Individual Fencing Competition - Champion & Ranking 6th in Hong Kong Cadet Men's Epee

2023-01-18

Upon witnessing our Hong Kong athlete, Cheung Ka-long’s historic fencing victory in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, hordes of adolescents are mesmerised by the ineffable thrill of this once-not-so-common sport. Unlike his peers participating in conventional sports, one of our sparkling St. Markans, Wong Tsz Ho Ayden (3A) took a path less travelled by many and embarked on his adventurous fencing journey since childhood.

Possessing an ardent desire for both academic and non-academic success, Ayden never tires of improving himself. Despite an almost three-year hiatus in local and international fencing competitions, he never doubts his self-ability and spares no pains to sharpen his fencing tactics. His unfading perseverance, diligence and resilience have empowered him to navigate life challenges, and we are excited to announce that he has been crowned champion in the recent Inter-school Individual Fencing Competition (Hong Kong Island Boys Epee B).

We are even more exhilarated to announce that Ayden has once ranked number 1 among all other Epee players under 14 years old, and he is currently the 6th ranking player in the Cadet Men’s Epee section in the territory. Excellent job!
